Schedule of Events:

Monday, June 30 – 18 hole qualifier

Groupings & Starting Times:

Starting times begin at 8:00 a.m. from Hole No. 1.

Practice Round:

Only ONE practice round is available to qualifiers. If you are a PGA Professional, please do not request an additional practice round as a professional courtesy. Those living in the Kansas City area are strongly encouraged to play a practice round the week prior to the championship. Practice rounds may be played Tuesday, June 24 thru Sunday, June 29 with the exception of Thursday, June 26. Weekday times are on an as available basis and weekend times are after 2:00 pm. Tee time reservations may be made by calling Leawood South Golf Shop at (913) 491-1313. The practice round is complimentary, however, you are responsible for any cart, practice range or food & beverage fees incurred during the practice round. The fee for a cart is $16 per person plus tax.

Lodging:

There are numerous hotels in the area with a variety of rates. To find what best suites your needs look online at www.visitkc.com then select accommodations. The course is in the Johnson county area.

Registration:

There is no formal registration on site. A Notice to Players and Hole Location sheet will be available at the starting tee. Important: Report to the starting tee no less than 5 minutes prior to your assigned starting time. There is no call to the tee; it is the player’s responsibility to arrive on time.

Food & Beverage:

Please patronize the club for your food and beverages purchases. Outside food is not allowed at the facility. Cash will be accepted for food and beverage purchases.

General Rules Information:

The Rules of the United States Golf Association govern play. This information sheet, the USGA Rules hard card and any site-specific Local Rules and Conditions of Competition sheets are supplements to the Rules of Golf. Local Rules of the host course do not apply. The KCGA Rules and Competitions Committee, who are charged with conducting this site, shall settle all questions. Reference to the Rules and Appendix I may be found in the 2008-09 Rules of Golf book. Unless otherwise noted the penalty for breach of a Local Rule or Condition is: 2 Strokes.

Distance-Measuring Devices:

The USGA DOES NOT permit the use of distance-measuring devices for this championships qualifier.

Pace of Play Guidelines and Procedures:

This qualifying site has adopted the Check-Point System for pace of play. The Check-Point System is based upon requiring a group to be in position at each check-point. Players in a group out of position at a check-point will be liable to the applicable penalty if the Committee determines the group or any player in the group was in breach of the pace of play guidelines. Please review the enclosed pace of play guidelines and procedures.

Transportation:

Players and Caddies must walk at all times during the stipulated rounds. Pull/Push carts are allowed during qualifying rounds. USGA policy does not permit spectator carts for any circumstance.

Caddies:

Caddies are permitted, however you are responsible for making your own arrangements for a caddie.

Practice Range:

The practice range opens one hour before the first starting time weather permitting. Range balls will be set up at the practice range and are complimentary for competitors only before the stipulated rounds or a play-off

Qualifying Positions:

This qualifying site has been allocated one (1) qualifying position. In addition, two (2) alternate positions will be determined. Should you qualify or earn an alternate position, you must accept your position and pick up the Championship’s Memorandum to Contestants at the scoring table before you leave the qualifying site.

Play-off:

In the event of a tie for the qualifying place or the alternate positions, the players concerned shall compete in a hole-by-hole play-off. The starting hole and time shall be announced at the scoreboard immediately after the Committee has verified the results of the qualifier.

Withdrawals:

You must contact the Steve McMillen at (913) 649-5242 ext. 1 if you need to withdraw. A competitor who fails to notify the Official in Charge of his withdrawal or who fails to notify the Committee of his withdrawal during the event is subject to a disciplinary action by the USGA. If you need to withdraw any time after 5:00 on June 27, please call (913) 484-1844. If you get the voice mail, then please leave a message.

Attire & Conduct:

Proper golf attire is required. Blue jeans, designer jeans, tee shirts, and tank tops are prohibited. Shorts must be mid-thigh. Golf shirts with a traditional or mock collar are required. The host club is a “spikeless facility.”

Close of Competition:

The qualifying competition shall be deemed to have closed when all scores have been returned and the committee has approved the results.
