Drew Lethem, 22 of Camdenton, Mo qualified for his
second straight USGA Championship by shooting back to back 69's
and qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship. Earlier this
year Lethem qualfied for the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship.
Also qualifying was Matt Ewald, 21 of Leawood, KS and Stephen Clarke
23 of Scotland who both shot 1-under 143 for the 36-hole qualifier.
Jace Long of Dixon, Mo was the first alternate and Tyler Cummins
of Lawrence, KS won a play-off to be the second alternate.
The 2008 U.S. Amateur Championship will take place
August 18-24 at Pinehurst Resort. The stroke play qualifying
will be played on No. 2 and 7 with match play portion of the championship
played exclusively on No. 2
