The overall goal of the KC Junior Tour is to
provide all junior amateurs an opportunity to play competition
regardless of skill while focusing on teaching them “Respect FORE the
Game.”
Today was another great day for the Prep Division out
at Overland Park Golf Club. Adam Lechner and Alex Larson shot personal
Tour bests. Lechner won medalist honors shooting a 9 hole total of 37, edging out John Sallaz, Kevin Lane, and Preston Fleenor who all
shot a 39. Zach Spencer was not too far behind his fellow competitors
coming in with a score of 40. Larson led the girl’s flight, breaking 50
for the first time, shooting 48 to nip fellow competitor Adrianna
Elliott who shot a 51.
In the Players out at Overland Park Golf Club Alexandra Keane Kruse
took home medalist honors with an 80 in the 13-15 flight. Other
winners included Alison Kruse taking second with a 84 and Amber Norman
coming in third with a 95. Ashley Nelson, for the second straight
time, took the medalist honors in the 16-18 flight shooting a 86, just
beating out her fellow competitors Paige Nawalany and Anna Filardo who
shot 87 and 88 respectively.

Brian Miller took medalist honors with
an 80 to win over second place finisher Scott Clausen Dalton who shot
85. Third place honors went to Dalton joyce and Tyler Lawrence
who both shot 87. The 13-15 flight was won by Austin Lowe going
low once again firing a nice score of 73 to win over Danny Summers
shooting a 76 and Carter Morrison shooting a 78.
The next Players/Prep Division event is at Excelsior Springs on
July 9. Currently the field is full, but walk-ups will be taken in
case of no-shows or late cancelations.
