The overall goal of the KC Junior Tour is to
provide all junior amateurs an opportunity to play competition
regardless of skill while focusing on teaching them “Respect FORE the
Game.”
Second Event for Players/Prep
Division Held at Minor Park Golf Course
Another full day of
junior golf was had by all at Minor Park Golf Course in South Kansas
City, Missouri. The start of the round was delayed for 30 minutes due
to weather. After the delay the round was successfully completed
without another delay. Leading the way in the Boy’s Prep Division was
Tanner Owen who held onto a one shot victory over Marc McClain.
Tanner, age 10, fired a score of 41. In the Girl’s Prep Division,
Alex Larson repeated her winning ways posting a score of 58 to edge
out her competitors.
In the Players Division,
the competitors are divided into four divisions consisting of girls
ages 13-15, boys ages 13-15, girls ages 16-18, and boys ages 16-18.
In the Girl’s 13-15 Players Division, Sarah Genton shot an 87 to take
the win. In the Boy’s 13-15 Players Division, Jacob Fain shot an
impressive 4 over par 74. In the Girl’s 16-18 Players Division,
Kristina Genton and Elizabeth Ward tied for first shooting an 87. In
the Boy’s 16-18 Players Division, Kevin Cahill edged out his
competitors by two shots by firing an 82. The next Players/Prep
Division event on the schedule for the 2008 KC Junior Tour will be
held at The Country Club of Blue Springs in Blue Springs, Missouri on
June 16th at 2 p.m. We currently have 2 walk-up spots
available for the Champions Division on Monday and 0 walk-up spots for
the Players/Prep Division.
