The overall goal of the KC Junior Tour is to
provide all junior amateurs an opportunity to play competition
regardless of skill while focusing on teaching them “Respect FORE the
Game.”
Today was a great day for the Prep Division at Claycrest
Golf Club. Tanner Owen, Britani Jenson, and Adrianna Elliott all
shot personal Tour bests . Owen won medalist honors for the third
straight time shooting a 9 hole total of 40 and edging out Adam
Lechner who shot a 42. Kevin Lane was not too far behind and placed
third with a 44. Jenson led the girl’s flight shooting a 52
to nip fellow competitor Adrianna Elliott who shot a 53.
The Players Division also wrapped up wonderful day at Claycrest
Golf Club. In the girl's flight Alison Kruse took home medalist
honors with an 87 in the 13-15 flight. Other winners included Madyson
Smith taking second with a 94 and Madalyne Bird coming in third
with a 95. Ashley Nelson took the medalist honors in the 16-18 flight
shooting a 92, beating out her fellow competitors Katelyn Nigus
and Paige Nawalany who shot 97 and 99 respectively.
In the 16-18 boy's flight Nathan Graham shot an 86 to win over
Scott Clausen and Tyler Lawrence shooting 88 and 89 respectively.
The 13-15 flight was won by Blake Windsor shooting a score of 81
to edge out Jonathon Searle who shot a score of 82. Ryan Hand took
third place honors with an 85.
The next Players/Prep Division event is at Overland Park Golf Club
on June 25. Currently the field is full, but walk-ups will
be taken in case of no-shows or late cancelations.
