The overall goal of the KC Junior Tour is to
provide all junior amateurs an opportunity to play competition
regardless of skill while focusing on teaching them “Respect FORE the
Game.”
Cecchini Shoots 81 to Take Medalist Honors at The
Country Club of Blue Springs
The KC Junior Tour had another successful day on
the links out at The Country Club of Blue Springs. The Players-Prep
Division started off the day at 2 p.m. In the 13-15 Boys Division
Justin Cecchini of Overland Park led the field with an 81 followed by
an 82 of Patrick Mcanulty of Overland Park. In the 13-15 Girls
Division, Madyson Smith, Independence, and Anne Willman, Prairie
Village, tied upon the top with an 87. In the 16-18 Boys Division
Kevin Cahill of Leawood edged out his nearest competitor by two
strokes with an 87. Nathan Graham, Liberty, and Dalton Joyce,
Independence, both tied for second firing a round of 89. Paige
Nawalany of Shawnee took the medalist honors for the 16-18 Girls
division shooting a round of 98. She was followed by Sara Dennis,
Holt, shooting an even 100 and Kirsten Ross of Overland Park shooting
a score of 105.
Black,
Owen, and Malecki Take Medalist Honors in the Prep Division
The
youngsters played well this afternoon despite the long and wet course
conditions. Amanda Malecki of Overland Park took medalist honors in
the Girls Division shooting a 9 hole score of 51. Brittani Jenson of
Desoto came in second shooting a 62. Alex Larson of Overland
Park came in third shooting a 63. In the Boys Division there was a tie
for first between Tanner Owen of Parkville, and Keaton Black of Grain
Valley both shooting a 9 hole score of 41. Adam Lechner, of Kearney,
was right there with Owen and Black shooting a 42. The third
place honors were given to Nick Sobba of Parkville who shot a total of
46.
