Michelle Regan of Prairie Village shot a 36-hole total
of 151 to win the Kansas City Women's Amateur. Regan won by
2 shots over Jennifer Clark of Kansas City. Clark pulled within
one shot of Regan after shooting a 38 on the front nine but lost
ground when Regan who shot even par the final nine made back to
back birdies on holes 11 and 12. Both Regan and Clark shot tournament
low 75's in the final round.
In the Players Divison, Meredith Beykirk of Overland
Park continued the good play from her final nine holes of the first
round to post a 36-hole total of 169, which was good for a two shot
victory over Donna Nelson. On the net side of the Players
Division, Jennifier Sumner shot a career low round of 94, which
turned into a net 60 to win the Net Championship.
The Kansas City Women's Amateur is open to any female
who has a USGA Handicap at a KCGA member club. The Championship
has two division; Open and Players. Players has both net and gross
scoring and is played from a more traditional length of tees.
